This key role will require you to carry out a role across some of Livingstone’s key customer accounts.  You will demonstrate expertise in a number of key software vendors, including the processing and review of software license entitlement and contracts, the analysis of software installation and consumption data, the creation of Effective Licence Positions, the reporting of commercial risk or cost saving opportunities and the tracking of mitigation actions   With a focus within the Livingstone service on cost savings, preparation and management of software maintenance renewals will be an ongoing requirement to consistently drive cost optimisation within our customer environments. . You will be responsible for the provision and continuous improvement of software licensing methodology, training programmes and the management of software licensing specialists across the Group, adopting and utilising Livingstone’s Managed Services Platform

 You will be required to build relationships with Stakeholders within your customer environments and your communication to customers and internally within Livingstone will be clear and accurate.  You will be responsible for the production of monthly reporting, including but not limited to, risk and optimisation opportunities, risk mitigation plans and cost saving assessment.  You will identify, manage and escalate any risks or issues that occur. 

Alongside your customer objectives you will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Centre of Excellence and will create and maintain vendor licensing methodology and training material.  As a Licensing Consultant you will continually focus on areas of improvement, efficiency, and automation to develop Livingstone’s automation capability, drive our internal operational efficiency and maximise profitability. 

Utilising your knowledge and experience, you will participate in the Centre of Excellence training programme and will provide and receive training  as required to contribute to your continued development and the continued progression of staff.

Your role as an enabler of change in the business is to assess and achieve standardisation of methodologies and deliverable outputs and to ensure high quality deliverables to our customers. You will be a role model for best practice and actively promote adoption of improvements into the business. You will require strong communication skills with clear, concise, confident, and warm messaging and adopt a flexible and constructive approach to customers and team alike.
 

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the technical delivery of services to assigned Livingstone customers as ensuring a high quality, high value delivery
  • Undertake individual consultancy assignments as required, analysing customer requirements, gathering and analysing data, recommending solutions and mitigation activities
  • Preparation of effective license position reports across multiple vendors and preparation and delivery of executive reporting to customer stakeholders
  • Identification, management and reporting of risk and cost transformation / innovation activities to deliver tangible benefits to our key customer accounts
  • Responsible for building strong business relationships with Customer Stakeholders to ensure that Livingstone’s service is being delivered to the right level
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise across the Livingstone Group to support the wider team in the delivery of Livingstone Services.
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of Vendor Licensing Review methodologies and the cascade of these throughout the function
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of training material and delivery of these throughout the department and wider organisation as required
  • Responsible for identifying improvements to develop the services delivered by the Centre of Excellence .
  • Continually focus on learning new skills, technologies, methodologies and changes to Vendor license models to continually improve knowledge and to enable cascade to Customers and other Livingstone teams.

 

Experience Required

Essential

  • Subject Matter Expertise in at least IBM or Oracle Vendor Licensing Methodology
  • Awareness or working knowledge of further software licensing models, metrics and calculations covering an array of Software Vendors
  • Experience of working within or for blue chip companies including engaging with management teams
  • Experience of performing software asset management as a subject matter expert
  • A proven track record of software asset management delivery
  • Experience of the impact of hardware infrastructure including virtualisation on software licensing
  • Contract analysis expertise and a working knowledge of contract, financial and procurement technology
  • Excellent level of communication skills including the ability to present to both internal and external stakeholders in both technical and non-technical language.
